Xiaomi may launch a new 5G flagship phone with 120W charging next month

Earlier today, OPPO announced its next-gen 125W Flash Charge technology, which is capable of fully charging a 4,000mAh battery in just 20 minutes. While OPPO did say that the new tech is "commercial ready," it hasn't revealed exactly when its first phone with 125W fast charging will hit the market. OPPO's compatriot Xiaomi, however, could launch a phone with support for 120W charging as soon as next month.

China's 3C certification body has certified a new Xiaomi phone with the model number M2007J1SC. As per the listing, the phone will ship with a 120W (6A x 20V) charger in the box. According to the folks at XDA Developers, the phone is codenamed "cas" and is likely to come equipped with a Snapdragon 865 or 865+ chipset under the hood. Xiaomi "cas" is also tipped to feature a 48MP primary camera and an optical zoom camera with a "supermoon" mode. The phone is said to include a wide-angle snapper as well, which will be capable of taking macro shots.
Xiaomi isn't the only smartphone maker that is expected to launch a phone with 100W+ fast charging next month. Vivo's iQOO sub-brand is also rumored to debut its first phone with 120W fast charging in China sometime next month. Unlike Vivo, iQOO, and OPPO, however, Xiaomi has yet to officially announce its 120W fast charging solution. It had demonstrated its 100W fast charging tech in March last year.
