Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition leak reveals a 120Hz display, Snapdragon 865

The "Lite" version of the Galaxy S20 could be a bigger upgrade over the Galaxy S10 Lite than expected.

• It is also rumored to feature a 120Hz display with a 3.3mm hole-punch cutout.
• Samsung is expected to launch the phone in the fourth quarter of the year.

Last month, a report had claimed that Samsung is working on a successor to the Galaxy S10 Lite, called the Galaxy S20 "Fan Edition." More details on the upcoming phone have now surfaced, courtesy of tipster Ice Universe.

The tipster claims the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will be powered by the same Snapdragon 865 chipset as the other Galaxy S20 series phones. This isn't surprising, however, as the Galaxy S10 Lite runs on the same Snapdragon 855 chipset as the flagship Galaxy S10 models. More interestingly, the phone is tipped to feature a 120Hz display. Just like the standard Galaxy S20, the Fan Edition will come with an Infinity-O display.

Another feature that the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition is rumored to have in common with the flagship Galaxy S20 models is IP68 water resistance. In his latest tweet, the tipster has also suggested that the phone will be priced competitively. Thanks to 5G connectivity and other hardware upgrades, however, we don't expect the S20 Fan Edition to be as affordable as the Galaxy S10 Lite. It is expected to be launched worldwide in October.
