How to watch Styrian Grand Prix practice & qualifying live stream
After last weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, Formula 1 drivers and teams will be staying in Austria for the 2020 Styrian Grand Prix and we have all the details on how you can watch the practice sessions and qualifying for this weekend's big race on TV or online.
As a result of the pandemic, Formula 1 was forced to change its schedule for 2020 which led to the decision to hold two races at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria. Since the first race was named the Austrian Grand Prix and two races aren't allowed to have the same name, this weekend's race has been dubbed the Stryian Grand Prix. Also known as the Steiermark Grand Prix, the race has been named after the region in Austria around the city of Graz where it will be held.
Just like last weekend, the Stryian Grand Prix will be held at the Red Bull Ring which has 10 turns and a circuit length of 2.683 miles. The race will consist of 71 laps and drivers will cover just over 190 miles before completing the race. Up until now, teams could choose how many of each tire type they would take to a race but that is no longer the case. For the first eight grand prix of the 2020 Formula 1 season, each driver will get two sets of hard tires, three sets of medium tires and four sets of soft tires at every race weekend.
Drivers participating in the race will have plenty of time to refamiliarize themselves with the track though as there will be two 90-minute free practice sessions on Friday followed by an additional one hour practice session on Saturday morning. A three part qualifying session will be held on Saturday afternoon where drivers will compete for the best time in order to determine the starting grid for Sunday's race.
All eyes will likely be on Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas this weekend as he finished the Austrian Grand Prix first while his teammate Lewis Hamilton dropped to fourth place after a five-second penalty. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc took second place in the race followed by McLaren's Lando Norris who came in third to earn a place on the podium.
Whether you're a big Formula 1 fan or just want to tune in to see the practice sessions and qualifying before Sunday's big race, we'll show you exactly how to watch the leadup to the 2020 Styrian Grand Prix.
